This itinerary between Triac and Bassac begins with a visit to the site of the Battle of Jarnac (1569), the church of St Romain and the Château de Triac, owned by Cognac Braastad-Tiffon. At the end of the morning, Tonnellerie 109 de Bassac will open its doors to reveal the secrets of barrel making and repair (private visit by JB, the cooper). Share an Apéro Charentais with the traditional Brin d’Aillet and picnic in the village of Bassac. Afterwards, we’ll take you on a stroll along the lanes and alleys of this charming, once-fortified village, crossed by the Guirlande river and whose historic landmark is the Benedictine Abbey of St. Etienne.
6km circuit (all day), easy route suitable for beginners. Suitable for beginners. Bring a water bottle, good walking shoes… and a picnic! End of the day around 3:00 pm.
