Balade contée | L'Abbaye St Etienne en 360°, des jardins au cloître | Par Sandrine Richard

The Saturday 26 April at 15 a.m00
Parvis de l'église abbatiale 50 Route de Condé 16120 Bassac
A 100% open-air walk for an original discovery of the Abbey in the heart of its natural setting: from the gardens bordered by the Garland to the cloister forming the inner courtyard, the Benedictine Abbey of St Etienne reveals its thousand-year-old history in 360°!
In the heart of the village of Bassac, the Abbey of Saint-Etienne stands out from the vines with its architecture. From its foundation at the dawn of the 11th century to the present day, this great Benedictine site has lived through a thousand years of history, now inscribed in stone as a reminder of the alternation of difficult episodes and glorious moments.

I invite you to travel back in time to discover or rediscover this emblematic abbey in the Charente valley, in Saintonge. A 360° tour that reveals the history and architecture of the church and abbey from the outside. An original panorama to admire the beauty of the site, particularly in the gardens bordered by the Guirlande, which offer a soothing setting to listen to the history of the abbey and the men who brought it to life from the 11th to the 20th century.

This walk takes place exclusively outdoors (church forecourt, gardens, cloister….).
